Chaos Lords…and the Men Who Love Them

Chaos Lords…and the Men Who Love Them
Captain Kilroy and his loyal retinue, just kinda hanging out before a big battle.

Behold my Warlord.

Captain Kilroy Alpharius Skidoo of the Alpha Legion, Wrecking Crew Auxiliary

His model is an Alpha Legion Saboteur Consul from the Horus Heresy Line. The dagger he is pulling out of its scabbard functions exactly the same as a Daemon Hammer. The shotgun hanging on the other side functions exactly the same as a Plasma Pistol. If he had a proper 90's Warhammer 40k name, it would be Captain Kilroy Alpharius Skidoo of the Alpha Legion, Wrecking Crew Auxiliary.

Around him are his hangers-on. They are represented by a 5-model squad of Legionaries. They are armed with 2 boltguns, 1 heavy melee weapon (power fist), one plasma pistol plus heavy melee weapon (power fist), and a plasma gun.

Kilroy and his retinue are going to be tasked with hanging out in the center of the board, trying to keep a low profile. If this unit sees a nice solid-looking wall, its going to get behind that wall. If there exists high point value primary or secondary missions near the center of the board, this unit will try to achieve those.

Towards the end of the game, if the center objective is contested, Kilroy is tasked with getting in there and un-contesting it. Hopefully he never has to do this. Hopefully if he does need to do this he has plenty of help from other units.

Captain-Saboteur P.W. Heriman

Now we come to my second Chaos Lord, this one with a jump pack. He is armed with a power fist and a plasma pistol. He is also enhanced with the Shroud of Obfuscation, a Deceptors upgrade that gives him the Lone Operative characteristic.

If he had a proper 90's Warhammer 4ok name, it would be Captain-Saboteur P.W. Heriman.

Per his high mobility (jump pack) and Lone Operative-ness, Captain Heriman will be given the role of "action monkey".

He will tasked with achieving any primary or secondary missions that require an "action" which would normally take up the shooting phase (and sometimes more) of an entire unit. He will also take on missions that require my units to be placed in far-flung corners of the board.

Such exciting missions include:
Behind Enemy Lines
Engage on All Fronts
Establish Locus
Cleanse
Sabotage
Recover Assets

What Heriman will NOT do is just swoop into any random conflict and get himself killed immediately. On his own, he is relatively weak. He can beat up a squad of Scouts, maybe, but it still would be a poor use of his talents.

He could lob a grenade if such a thing is called for. Because of his "Lord of Chaos" ability, such a grenade could be thrown for the low cost of 0CP, quite the bargain.

During one of my previous battles, Heriman got into a fight with a Gladiator Lancer Floating Tank Thing. He is NOT good for this type of activity.
